Figshare for Institutions is an open platform for publishing Smithsonian research data.

Features include:

  • No additional password to remember - log in with your SI network credentials
  • Reserve a DOI for your dataset before you publish it (for datasets that accompany peer-reviewed publications)
  • Integration with ORCID and github
  • Accepts any file type, provides preview for common file types
  • Versioning (with unique, related DOIs for each version)
